Designyear

Avio, designed by Piero Lissoni, is the new, contemporary and versatile sofa component system, to reinterpret and make better use of any type of space. It is ideal for those who appreciate solid, elegant design that epitomizes a comfortable, relaxed lifestyle.
Features
Avio is built as a supporting structure: a steel truss fitted with ‘fingers’ to support seats, backrests, tables. This framework transforms into a flexible system that can give rise to an almost endless number of benches, two-seaters, three-seaters, chaise longues and tabletops. The padding ensures maximum comfort. It can be dressed up in leather or fabric and can accommodate cushions. It has a pure and precise beauty, and is ideal for any purpose: resting, conversing, reading, listening to music, sleeping, watching a film, having an aperitif..
Construction
Frame: seats and tables are suspended on a central beam structure made in heavy gauge tubular steel. These beams are interconnected to obtain several configurations and attached to the legs. Upholstery: each seat is attached to the metal structure through an individual frame. Seat and back cushions with variable density foam covered with polyester fiberfills to enhance comfort. Slip covers are completely removable. Pillow: down filled pillows are available both in fabric and leather.

Cosmopolitan elegance for modern lifestyle. This sofa is a dream come true thanks to its softness that you could literally sink into forever and ever. The spacious leather surfaces of both sofa and récamière seem to float over the understated framework in a balanced harmony of lightness and weight. Chic and inviting at the same time: the casual look of the leather complemented by the light down filling of the upholstery. Boards in glass or alternatively in leather are ultra-convenient for short spells of daydreaming or extensive reading sessions as the perfect place to deposit the Sunday paper, a glass of wine or your iPad. You could of course use them to display lamps, vases and cushions. What is in fact the back, is effectively the front. Nothing could be more casual.

It takes its inspiration from Chang’e, the goddess of the moon, said to arise in the West and reside in her lunar palace ‘Guanghan’, which means ‘wild coldness’. The collection is at once fresh, cool and comfortingly timeless. Like its celestial namesake, it is infused with the energy of Yin, the female principle in Yin and Yang.

The daybed is designed by Ole Gjerløv-Knudsen in 1962. It was designed for his son which was about to go on a camping trip. Seeing that the son was sick with a sore throat the caring father designed the daybed so his son would not have to sleep on the ground. The daybed is designed from the bucksaw principle and the name Savbriks means "bucksaw bed". With practice the OGK daybed can be assembled in 2 minutes and comes in a bag with shoulder strap if you which to take it to the beach or where ever a nap is needed. The product is very green and no screws are needed for assembly.

The Oscar sofa strikes a pleasing balance between modernity and tradition, large in size yet light in appearance. The sofa is made from a European hardwood frame, jute webbing and hessian straps and then covered with a mix of materials that includes natural fibres, animal hair and wool. It features two large feather cushions that are notable for their depth, the back has a line of sewn in pulls, lending the sofa the appearance of a buttoned back, without the actual buttons. The feet are made from walnut stained beech, with the front two being turned versions. By contrasting long straight lines with delicate natural curves, Hilton has created a piece that is both reserved and full of humility. The Oscar sofa is a piece perfect for those who like their modernity laced with a little familiarity. Also available as a two seat sofa, armchair, chaise longue and sectional sofa, in fabric or leather. Made in the UK.

Andres & Voll wanted to make a sofa series with a light and inviting appearance, without compromising on comfort. The horizontal division in the seat is important, as it allowed them to add extra comfort in the lower part of the furniture while maintaining an airy overall expression. The Oslo sofa series is crafted on the west coast of Norway and with its embracing and rounded softness it stands as a natural extension to the Nordic touch and friendliness that characterises the designs of Muuto.

Prime Time comprises a whole range of variants: individual, add-on and corner solutions are compelling in their minimised elegance. The mechanism of the corner with a récamière is as simple as it is practical: you need just two easy steps to swivel in the récamière. A sofa that makes a statement. This range of upholstery offers spacious seating with great comfort. All-encompassing and modular, a sofa landscape is created for the entire family, for friends and for guests by the interaction of volumes with deep seat elements and opulent upholstery. Whether as a single sofa, récamière or large corner configuration – a range of shapes for individual lifestyles from a cosy apartment to a spacious loft. A landscape of cushions. At first glance. But Yuuto is so much more. In their search for that special comfort, the designers developed “coussins indépendants”: framework, stretched straps, with the soft upholstery on top. Every seat cushion is effectively a sofa in itself. For an extremely comfortable way to relax. No, more than that - for seating comfort par excellence. Top-quality surfaces draw your attention to the detail: upholstered areas made of natural fabrics, armrests and boards in sturdy saddle leather. Yuuto demonstrates its grandeur down to its very core: matt shimmering servers in copper and bronze are eye-catchers. The practical side tables can be reached from every seat: iPad and remote are quick to hand, tea at five is served without further ado. Different heights, different materials – Yuuto changes its tune to suit the particular background.
