Arctander Chair

Design Philip Arctander Designyear 1944 Manufacturer Paustian

In 1944, architect Philip Arctander designed a chair which has since become a design classic under the name Muslingestolen / Clam Chair or Arctander Chair. Working in collaboration with Philip Arctander’s granddaughter and the founders of Paustian, Paustian is now putting the iconic chair into production. With its light expression, soft, padded form and rounded legs, the Arctander Chair has become a point of reference in the field of furniture design.

It was produced in limited numbers in the late 1940s.
